Relax Like a Local at Lukács Thermal Bath

After a full day of sightseeing, there’s only one proper Budapest ending: thermal baths. Even on a Budapest day trip from Vienna, there is enough time to experience one of the city’s famous thermal baths before returning to Austria.

From the Buda side riverfront:

Unlike some of the more touristy spas, Lukács has a more authentic local atmosphere while still being beautiful and historic.

Spend 1.5–2 hours enjoying:

  • Thermal pools
  • Outdoor baths
  • Saunas
  • Steam rooms

It’s one of the best ways to experience Budapest’s famous spa culture.

Useful tip

Bring:

  • Swimsuit
  • Towel
  • Flip-flops

You can buy or rent items at the entrance, but bringing your own is usually more comfortable and cheaper.

19:00–20:30

Return to Keleti Station for Your Train to Vienna

After the baths:

  • Take Tram 4 or 6
  • Connect to Metro M2
  • Return to Keleti Railway Station

Budapest’s public transport is fast and reliable, even in the evening.

Try to arrive at least 20–30 minutes before departure.
