Latest News

Dear Everyone!

As we have written in our previous blog posts, as many countries Hungary has started opening up after the third wave of the Coronavirus pandemic has started declining a few weeks ago. HERE you can read about the latest easing of restrictions, since this blog post there has not been any changes yet.

It seems to be official now that the European Union’s mutual vaccine passport will be valid from the 1st of July 2021. Probably that is when we are going to restart our daily Free Budapest Walking Tours in the Hungarian capital (at the moment we are still not operating them).

The list of nationalities that can enter Hungary with their valid immunity certificates without having to quarantine themselves are: Slovenia, Croatia, Bahrain, Romania, Turkey, Czech Republic, Mongolia, Georgia, Moldova.

Gradual reopening of Hungary 3.

Covid-19 News of Hungary and the Free Budapest Walking Tours Team

As we have shared in our previous blog posts, a gradual reopening inside of Hungary has started a few weeks ago, since our vaccination program is going quite well. We reached the number 5 million; 5 million Hungarian people got their first dose of any of the 5 types of Covid-19 vaccination that we use here. Therefore, it is possible to continue the gradual reopening of the country.

Let’s see what are the newest easing of restrictions in Hungary!

  • no more curfew at night anymore!
  • shops and catering units’ closing time is free now, they do not have to close at a certain time like in the last months
  • we do not have to wear face masks outdoors, but still must wear them indoors, inside of shops, malls, public transport etc.
  • doing sports individually and in groups is allowed again
  • private and family events can be held with up to 50 participants without any restrictions & wedding parties can be held too with up to 200 people (if these are held in a hotel or a restaurant, the hotel or restaurant is obliged to separate the participants of the wedding party or family event from the other guests of the hotel)
  • other indoor events can be visited only by those who got vaccinated already and got their immunity certificates
  • other outdoor events can be held with up to 500 people, if the number of the participants is more than 500 people then only vaccinated people can participate
  • music/dance events can be visited only by vaccinated people with their immunity certificates
  • people aged 16-18 can go to restaurants, cinemas without adult supervision if these teenagers have their immunity certificates already (so far they could go with adult supervision only…)

We have summarized the countries that established mutual agreements with Hungary about accepting each others immunity certificates, these countries at the moment are: Slovenia, Croatia, Bahrain, Romania, Turkey, Czech Republic, Turkey, Mongolia, Georgia. These nationalities do not need to quarantine themselves if they have been vaccinated and got their immunity certificates when entering Hungary.

We are coming closer and closer to reopen our daily Free Budapest Walking Tours (this will probably happen when the EU starts their vaccine passport program). We are keeping you updated here and on our Facebook page, too!

News

As we, the TriptoBudapest – Free Budapest Walking Tours Team, have shared in our previous blog posts, the 3rd wave of the coronavirus pandemic in Hungary has started a decline and due to this plus the vaccination a gradual reopening inside of the country has started. You can read these details here and here.

They are going to announce further easing of restrictions once we reach 5 million vaccinated Hungarian people (that got at least the first dose of any Covid-19 vaccination, according to the Hungarian rules) and then when we reach the number 6 million. At the moment the number of Hungarian people who got at least the first jab is almost 4.8 million and the number of those that got the second as well is almost 2.8 million. Right now Hungary is the 14th most vaccinated country in the world. If you are interested in more details, visit abouthungary.hu

The borders are still closed, but Hungary has established agreements with a couple of countries already about accepting each others immunity certificates, these countries are: Slovenia, Croatia, Bahrain, Romania, Turkey, Czech Republic and we are having we are having negotiations with some others, like Israel, so hopefully soon there will be more nations that can enter our country without having to compulsorily quarantine themselves after arriving to Hungary.

Still not running our free walking tours in Budapest, but as we always highlight, we can not wait to have you in Budapest again and show you our capital city, tell you about our history, culture, cuisine and much more on our daily Budapest free tours and private sightseeing walking tours! We are always posting the latest information about the reopening of Hungary and our company as well regularly here on our website and on our Facebook page, too, so stay tuned dear Everyone and have a nice rest of the week!

Covid-19 related news of Hungary and us, the Free Budapest Walking Tours Team

As we have shared in our previous blog posts, Hungary has started a gradual reopening inside of the country after the third wave of the Coronavirus pandemic and the number of cases have started decreasing and the vaccination program has been going quite well. Here is what is open now after a long lockdown since last November.

Regarding international travelling: the borders of the country are not fully open yet for anyone (therefore we are still not running our daily free Budapest walking tours, but as soon as we reopen, you will be able to see info about it on our website and Facebook page as well!). However, Hungary has established a couple of agreements with some countries: we mutually accept each others immunity certificates with Slovenia, Croatia, Bahrain, Romania and Turkey at the moment. It means that Hungarians can travel to these countries and come home without having to quarantine themselves and people from the mentioned countries can travel to Hungary without having to go to quarantine after they enter our country.

Domestic travelling inside of the country is getting awake after a long lockdown. Those Hungarians that are vaccinated and got their immunity certificates already (about 4.3 million people out of the population of about 10 million people) can visit hotels as well. They say that hotels and other kind of accommodations on the Hungarian countryside are getting quite a lot of bookings and are preparing for a very busy summer season.

We are eagerly preparing for the reopening of the borders and can not wait to have you here again, Dear Travelers! It has been too long since we could show you around our great capital city and tell you all the stories about our history, culture, cuisine and much more on our free walking tours in Budapest!
